COVID-19 has left an indelible mark on Indians’ approach to health and wellness. The Sunrise Consumer Health and Nutrition Sector, a report by EY India, found that around 94% of Indians are worried about their family’s health, compared to 82% of global respondents.

The report pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic created “the biggest seismic shift,” putting health and immunity at center stage. Most importantly, it highlighted that Indian consumers have opened their wallets towards fitness classes and activities, consuming natural foods, health supplements, and following specialized diets.

Quora users in India reflect these trends quite accurately. The Global Web Index (GWI) survey of all internet users in India, for the first three quarters of CY2022, reveals that 56.8% of Quora users describe themselves as “health-conscious.” At least once a week, 71.1% of them go running and 52.8% go to the gym, while 57.5% showed interest in health food and drinks.

Quora users also tend to turn to the internet for their health and wellness needs; 48.2% of Quora users research health issues and healthcare products online and 45.2% of them said that the information or recommendations they found online were important to them in selecting healthcare brands.
